Celebrating National Dog Day in High Point
Okay, who doesn’t love dogs?? Obviously we all do, they are “man’s best friend” after all! August 26th is National Dog Day so let’s pamper our best friends even more than usual to celebrate! Here is our idea of the perfect Dog Lover’s Day in High Point!
Rich Folk Nature Preserve
Dogs need plenty of exercise so let’s start off the day right with a walk through the Rich Folk Nature Preserve! Adjacent to the Hartley Drive YMCA, this 116-acre preserve makes a great place to take your furry friend on a pleasant walk with plenty of sights, sounds, and smells!
Lunch at Penny Path
After a nice Relaxing walk through the nature preserve, take Fido with you to lunch! High Point has plenty of Dog Friendly restaurants where you can eat with your dog! Penny Path is a super fun Crêpe Café down town and has some comfy outdoor seating! Perfect for watching some cars go by while you enjoy a slice of city life!
High Point Dog Park
After a delicious lunch, head over to High Point’s new Dog Park! The park just opened this year and is the perfect place for your dog to have some social time with his fellow four legged friends!
Scooby-Dos Mobile Pet Grooming
After a long day of play, why not pamper your pet with a proper bath and hair cut?! Scooby-Dos will come straight to you with their awesome pet grooming van!
Dinner at Blue Rock Pizza and Tap
Like we said earlier, High Point is full of great, pet-friendly restaurants. Blue Rock is another one of our favorites! Sit out on the patio and enjoy an awesome pizza while your dog rests from his day of play!
Night out at Brown Truck
If your dog has any energy left, head over to a High Point favorite, Brown Truck Brewery! This dog friendly brewery is a great way to relax after a day full of activities!
