A View On: Fit Hub

FIT HUB’s owner Lori Teppara holds a medicine ball over her head

We’ll be the first to admit, it’s easy on a free afternoon or weekend to pop over to one of our favorite places to fill our bellies. But what about a place to tone our tummies? We’ve got your new home for all things fitness and health. FIT HUB!

FIT HUB isn’t just your regular gym, where you feel like you may either get crushed by that guy who is bench-pressing a truck or left feeling insecure by the rows and rows of people running at 80mph on the elliptical. FIT HUB is a boutique gym (okay, not that kind of boutique) what we  mean is that their specialty is small group classes, personal training, and nutrition consultations. Their goal? Making your fitness more about you! We spoke with FIT HUB’s owner, Lori Teppara, about her business and all the ways it is bringing personalized fitness to High Point.

Q. Tell us about your company in about 10 words.

A. It’s a boutique fitness center that offers personal training and small group classes. We keep it personal.

Q. Why was it started and what was the vision?

A. I (Lori) am an Exercise Physiologist and Nutritionist and have worked in the fitness field for 23 years. I have always wanted to open a boutique gym where we can focus on our clients and help them reach their goals.

Q. What are the highlights and challenges of working in High Point?

A. People are very receptive to our vision. But it’s a small town so when you make someone sore you typically run into them and hear about it. 🙂

Q. Why did you choose to locate your fitness business in High Point?

A. We live in High Point, and I actually live so close I can walk to work in 2 minutes. I wanted to offer new fitness options in my own community.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

A. My biggest challenge is space. I love the space we are in and wouldn’t change a thing. However, in hindsight, I kinda wish the space was a little bigger.

Q. If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out in High Point, what would it be?

A. Get involved in the community. You will make friends in no time. People here are very welcoming.

Q. What are you excited about for High Point’s future?

A. I’m excited for a walkable town. I’m excited our shopping and restaurant choices are growing as well. I have heard there will be a children’s museum and a park which makes me happy because with 3 young kids, we need things to do that will keep them active, off of electronics and broaden their horizons.

Q. How can the HP Discovered audience find you online?

A. Fithubhighpoint.com
