A View On: Pure Light Yoga

Pure Light Yoga (PLY) is a High Point based yoga studio that offers yoga for whatever your needs may be.  That could be to build a strong body, relax, or just the urge to try something new!  We had the chance to talk to Debbie at PLY about how this yoga studio journey began and how it’s taken off.

Q. Tell us about PLY in about 10 words.

A. Yoga studio offering Gentle to Advanced classes

Q. Why was it started and what was the vision?

A. To reduce life clutter and increase self and community awareness.

Q. What is one thing people would be interested to learn about PLY?

A. We have been in operation since 2011.

Q. What are the highlights and challenges of owning/operating your studio in High Point?

A. Yoga is still new to this area and there is a very small population of people who stay committed to a daily/weekly yoga practice.

Q. Why did you choose to locate PLY in High Point?

A. I already had the location, just repurposed the space!

Q. How has High Point changed since you started PLY?

A. Combining the studio and the cafe has been a great combination for High Point.

Q. What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?

A. Work is a part of my daily life.  It is very difficult to step away and find personal time.  #goals

Q. How have the citizens and community of High Point supported you?

A. The general consensus, High Point loves what we do and offer!  The community, especially the younger generation and transplants really enjoy our space.

Q. If you had one piece of advice for someone just starting out in High Point, what would it be?

A. You must work with determination and with your heart on your sleeve.  Nothing comes easy in a small town especially new concepts.  However, people are hungry for these improvements to our city!

Q. What are you excited about for High Point’s future? 

A. Growth, fun places to hang out, interesting people to continue meeting, good food and sense of a supportive community, excited to embrace change!
