Better Together: Valentine’s Date Ideas

February 14th can bring with it a lot of pressure, uncertainty, and unnecessary stress in trying to orchestrate “the perfect date.” It can even be easier to ignore the holiday altogether and just pretend it’s another day of the year. But this year, we challenge you to make Valentine’s Day a new kind of special day for you and your sweetheart. Don’t worry about making your day Instagram-perfect or overly romantic. Focus on making the day a time to step outside your normal hectic life and truly appreciate your partner and all the ways they make your life sweeter.

To help you do just that, we’ve done the hard work for you (you’re welcome!) by thinking of some great date vibes for your Valentine’s. All you have to do is put it on the calendar and show up with your special someone to make this a day to celebrate love.

Get Active Together

This Valentine’s Day, take a late afternoon or evening bike ride through Piedmont Environmental Center, or save it for a Saturday post-Valentine’s treat. Enjoy the beauty of the parks in our city, and enjoy getting some fresh air with your honey.

Relax Together

Schedule a little rest and relaxation for you and your sweetheart by planning a couple’s massage or facial at About Face Day Spa. This is the perfect date for the couple always on the go. Take some time for yourselves, slow down, and just enjoy a day of relaxing together.

Go Out Together

If you’re in the mood for something fancier, why not treat yourselves to a special night out at Magnolia Blue? Add a spark to your relationship by reminding each other of what it was like to get ready and go out for a date night, just the two of you.

Stay In Together

Maybe this Valentine’s Day, the best thing you could do would be to stay home! If your calendar has felt perpetually full, spend some quality time at home without any obligations or distractions. Pick up a bottle of wine at the Brewer’s Kettle bottle shop and grab take out from Thai Herb or Rice Paper, and enjoy a relaxing night in.

Take a Class Together

Maybe wait a few days after Valentine’s Day, and enjoy learning something new together. Head to the Cozy Cannoli to take a pasta-making class (and enjoy some amazing desserts). Add a new skill to your cooking repertoire and enjoy the process together.

Have Fun Together

Maybe spend an evening remembering how much fun you have with your special someone. Grab a casual bite at Sir Pizza and then head to Brown Truck Brewery to enjoy some brews and games. Or head to Goofy Foot Taproom to laugh together and enjoy the chill atmosphere. Take the pressure off, and just spend some time enjoying each other’s company.

We think that this Valentine’s it matters less what you do, it matters more who you do it with. From brews to baked goods, from dressed up to pajamas, from trailblazing to black-tie – you and your partner are better together.
