It features open houses at High Point’s historic churches and retail merchants. Your family can visit Santa and the Elves, take a ride in a horse drawn carriage, enjoy performances by community groups and carolers- and so much more. There is also a crafts and holiday wares fair! Culp Christmas Tree

In 1994, the Culp family decided to decorate their 75-ft. redwood tree, as a way to thank God for healing their 12-year-old son, who was diagnosed with a low-grade malignant tumor in his left femur bone. The community came together to help beautifully decorate and light the tree. For 20 years, the Culps have kept the holiday event going, creating a tradition for the community to enjoy. Not even losing the original tree during an ice storm in 2014 would stop the Culp’s celebration. Instead, they decided to plant a similar tree to continue the beloved tradition. Join the community on December 1st to witness the lighting of the Culp Christmas tree. This holiday event is located at 500 Woodbrook Drive, High Point. If you have any questions, please call R. “Frosty” Culp at 336-689-9803.

First Methodist Church Love Feast

First United Methodist Church and Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church both gather the High Point community for their Love Feast event, a Christmas Eve tradition rich with meaning and celebration. This holiday event features talented performances by the Chancel Choir, the chamber orchestra, and the Church’s renown handbell choir. Stories and music abound. And at the end of each service, the sanctuary lights are turned off as the community is brought together by sharing the lighting of candles by every attendee and the signing of Silent Night. The service will take place on December 24th at 5pm and doors will open at 4:30pm. First United Methodist Church is located at 512 North Main Street in downtown High Point and Wesley Memorial is located at 1225 Chestnut Drive at the corner of Westchester.
