Every winter, our reward for making it through that long January stretch, post-Christmas, comes on February 14 when we celebrate all the love in our lives. (*Cue Nat King Cole and L-O-V-E*) This Valentine’s Day, don’t let the holiday pass you and your special someone by without taking advantage of some of the best and sweetest date spots High Point has to offer.

Whether you’ve been married for 50 years or you’re still trying to figure out if you want to go on that second date, here is our list of High Point’s Valentine’s date ideas for whatever mood you and your sweetheart are in this February 14th.

1. The “Getting to Know You” Date

Maybe this Valentine’s Day, love is freshly in the air for you. What better way to spend a couple hours with your new love interest than taking some quality time getting to know each other a little more? Plan a classic coffee date at one of our favorite High Point places, DeBeen Espresso. Warm up with your new honey and some of our fav drinks, like the “chai-coffski” or the brown sugar latte!

2. The “You’re Worth Waking up Early for” Date

Nothing says, “intentional quality time,” like sacrificing the extra sleep to grab breakfast with your significant other. Before your day gets too hectic, take time to start your morning slowly with breakfast at local diner, Alex’s House. You might be surprised how much you enjoy a slow, cozy morning between you, your special someone, and the amazing waffles and omelets Alex’s House never fails to deliver.

Afterwards, if you’re still not ready for your night to be over quite yet, swing by The Brewer’s Kettle for a craft beer. And if one of you isn’t big on beer, The Brewer’s Kettle also serves wine. Cap off your fancy evening with one last special stop to celebrate you and your honey!

This intimate cafe in downtown High Point offers a delicious variety of freshmade dinner and dessert crêpes. And having two people means you can get the best of both worlds! Try splitting a savory and dessert crêpe, and then catching a movie together at AMC High Point 8. What could be better than an afternoon of finding your new favorite statement piece for your home from their collection of eclectic and dreamy antiques? Then you get to top it off with some of the delicious coffee and cakes at Dot & Pearl’s, The Market’s onsite bakery, with ladies in your life who have been there through every relationship status. Or feeling like you’re more in the mood for a night out with everyone? Get a group of friends and head down to Brown Truck Brewery. This local brewery brews all beers on-site, and has plenty of space for mingling with friends both inside and outside. And don’t forget to check out their social media to see if there is live music in the line-up for February 14th! Take an evening for fresh brews and some time to appreciate all the special someones in your life who make every day something to celebrate.
