Call us basic, but we think fall may be one of our absolute favorite times of year to spend in High Point! With so many fun and festive autumnal activities and Halloween happenings, there is something for every one to enjoy the whole month of October in our city. Check out our list of some of the ways you can have fall fun in the Home Furnishings capital this month.
Get Spooky with Your Pet
Northwood Animal Hospital and High Point Grooming are partnering with Visit High Point to host the Spooktacular Pets of the Triad Halloween Costume Contest! What could be more fun than furry friends in frightening (and adorable!) costumes! Message your photos of your costumed pet to Visit High Point, and vote for your favorites on social media. Winners announced October 29!
Build Some Community at the Unity Festival
The 11th Annual Unity Festival, hosted by the Washington Street Business Association, the Hayden-Harman Foundation, DRLtoons, and The MIND Group is one of the best events of the fall! Celebrating the legacy of Washington Street and promoting city-wide unity, the festival will host food trucks, live music, a kid’s zone in the park, and more! October 9, 12pm to 4pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Get Your Beer Crawl On!
Some of our favorite brewskis (Brown Truck Brewery, Paddled South, and The Brewer’s Kettle) are partnering to give us the best beer crawl around. For $16, you get two pints at each spot, and a chance to win the Scavenger hunt! October 9, 4pm to 12am.
Test Your Horror Movie Trivia Knowledge
Got all the facts on Jason and Freddy and Michael Myers? Then you’re sure to win big at the Brewer’s Kettle Horror Movie Trivia night! For $5 wine by the glass, the movies may be scary but the good deals aren’t! Grab some movie buff friends and see if you can survive till the end of the movie. October 26, 7pm at the Brewer’s Kettle.
Have Some Spooky Family Fun
The City of High Point’s Spooky Hoopla is always a fall favorite! Hayrides, costume contests, trunk-or-treating and more, everyone’s sure to have some Halloween happiness at the Hoopla. October 16, 5pm-8pm at High Point Athletic Complex.
Gather for Ghost Stories in the Park
The High Point Museum knows how to get scary with their 10th annual ghost stories in the park! Professional storyteller, Donna Washington is a masterful story weaver, and with snacks, pumpkin decorating, and more, you’re sure to feel in the Halloween spirit. October 16th, 6:00pm-7:15pm at the High Point Museum.
