We’re several weeks into 2019 and that means…the High Point Rockers are coming to town! We are so excited that we’re now only 105 days away from the first pitch being thrown across home plate! We’ll be sharing the scoop on all the exciting details that make up the who, what, and how of the High Point Rockers with you over the next few months leading up to May 2. Trust us, you are not going to want to miss all the news regarding what is sure to be your new favorite activity in High Point.
The Rockers are dedicated to providing not only fun for High Point residents but also opportunity. They want to create lasting impact by investing in the community, through volunteer efforts, event space, encouraging new business, and job opportunities.
In fact, the Rockers are hosting job fairs to engage the community with Rockers staff and personnel, and offer info on new positions. Ranging from full time, year-round staff to part-time game day positions, the job opportunities with the High Point Rockers are booming
The Rockers have already seen impressive turnouts at their recent job fairs, with around 90 people coming to one of their job fairs on January 9. And they have one more tomorrow (Saturday, January 19) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prospective employees just have to stop by the Red Lion Hotel downtown (135 S. Main St.) with a copy of their resumé to learn about available positions.
Ken Lehner, president of the High Point Rockers, has a wealth of experience working in the sports world. Having worked with baseball teams like the Florida Marlins, and other sports franchises including the Carolina Hurricanes and the Tampa Bay Lightning, Ken is excited to begin investing in the High Point community with the Rockers. In regards to the job fair, Ken encourages prospective employees to be excited not nervous.
“These are more first impressions than first interviews,” he explains. He and his staff are eager to get to know more High Point residents at the job fair and beyond.
This is just the beginning of the Rockers investment in High Point, and we can’t wait to see all the ways our community grows with them in 2019 and beyond.
