High Point’s Best Playgrounds & Parks

With new technologies and activities constantly grabbing your kids’ attention, you may ask yourself “is going to a playground still as fun as it used to be?” Of course, it is! Playgrounds offer endless amusement for both your kids and you. For the kids, it’s most likely the giant slides, and the equipment to climb on that amuses them for hours. For you, it’s probably enjoying a nice day out with your family, watching your happy kids be active, and of course the best part – it tires out the kids! There are so many reasons that the joy of a playground will never be dulled, which is exactly why you should plan a day for you and your kids to visit a local park. Washington Terrace Park & Community Center

Washington Terrace Park is filled with many activities that your kids will love! Their playground is shaded by tall trees, so the area is cool for your kids to play while you sit and relax! This park is located at 101 Gordon Street and is open from sunrise to sunset.

Armstrong Park

Armstrong Park is a great place for you and your kids to enjoy a day together. From the monkey bars, to the climbing walls, to the slides, your kids will love spending hours at the playground. The quiet, shady park is located at 305 E Pkwy Ave. Local Tip: this is right around the corner from the lovely campus of High Point University.

High Point City Lake Park

This large park is a great place to spend quality time with your family and friends plus there is so much to do! Most notable of which is a large playground that includes features for ages from toddlers to older children to enjoy! The playground overlooks a lake, so you can sit and enjoy the nice view, while still keeping a close eye on your kids playing!

Oak Hollow Festival Park

Oak Hollow Festival Park is a great place to unwind, and get some fresh air! Their large playground offers a scenic overlook of Oak Hollow lake, which is perfect for watching the sunset. Meanwhile, your kids will be preoccupied with sliding down the multiple slides and seeing who can get the highest on the swings before jumping off.

Hedgecock Park is a smaller, isolated park that allows for you and your family to have some quality time alone together. And let’s not forget our four-legged family members! This park is dog friendly, so you can even bring along the furry family members too! The shady playground features two long slides that your kids will love. Located at 300 W Paris Avenue.
