WELCOME PANTHERS! New to High Point? Let us be the first to welcome you to town! If you are here for High Point University move-in weekend we would be willing to bet you have had a lot on your mind lately.  Are we right?

And speaking of having a lot on your mind, we know you have been super busy but who isn't during the weeks leading up to college? So, to make your life a little easier, we have put together a list of questions you might not have thought to ask while you are in town.

This list, curated by HPU moms and their students, is kid-tested and Mother-approved!!

Where is the closest place for dorm room necessities and school supplies?

Lucky for you, our local Target is right around the corner from campus. We know you already know what they have, so we won't go into detail here.

Who delivers food to campus?

HPU has a number of amazing on-campus dining options however sometimes you just have a craving for something different, right? A number of places around town will deliver to campus including Rome Italian Pizza, Pizza Vino, Chu's Express, Sir Pizza, and Sumela just to name a few. Sites like Grubhub and UberEats recently hit the triad to make your search easier!

Where can I get wash and fold services?

Need those sheets laundered before you make the bed? Emerywood Laundry is a local favorite that provides wash and fold services. Even better, you can walk next door and take a yoga class at Pure Light Yoga and grab a cup of coffee at DeBeen!

Where are the best places to learn more about our new High Point community?

Glad you asked! Hopefully you will come back to our page regularly! This will give you wonderful insight to the artists, artisans, craftsman, makers and entrepreneurs worth discovering and we have made it our mission to share these "secrets" with the world. Our blog is a closer look into the heart and soul of High Point: to celebrate the people and places we love, who have authentic and unique stories to share.  We ask that you sign up to receive updates when we post (and to make it super easy the box is to the right of your screen - see, easy peasy).

Where can we celerate the start of the new year?

Have you heard of our new food hall, Stock+Grain Assembly?? The BEST place to celebrate the start of a new year (with something that everyone can love)!

Are there any storage units in town to store my things?

Sometimes it simply makes more sense to store it than move it every year. High Point has several storage unit options around town:

Quality Self Storage has been in town for years and has been voted Best of Southern Triad.

AAA Self Storage is High Point's newest storage unit and is located near the Palladium.

Are there movie theaters and concert venues? What about good cafes for getting work done or finding the perfect honey vanilla latte?

Yes, yes and yes!

The High Point Rockers are in the house if you're a baseball lover, and Ziggys.Space is the newest concert venue in High Point bringing internationally known artists to High Point!

Regal Cinemas Palladium is our nearby IMAX theater that has reclining lounge seating after its recent renovation.

And we recommend 83 Custom Coffee for grabbing your favorite latte and getting some work done. They have both indoor and outdoor seating areas!

Where can I take my car to get serviced?

If you are the car owner who likes dealer-only service, High Point has number of auto dealerships in town (including one of the original Bentley dealerships)! Your handy friend Google can tell you all you need to know about local options.

If you are looking for a local to service your wheels, we take ours to Dale and his crew at High Point Tire.

Who does alterations for things like Formal dresses?

Nabil at the eponymous Nabil's has been a High Point staple for years. And Valencia at Sew-U-Nique has a loyal following who love her as much as she loves what she does. Not to mention if you're looking for new formal wear, Fallen in Love is High Point's newest formal (and bridal!) salon!

Where can we get a sweet treat during Move-In weekend?

We all need a little sugar break during the stress of move-in! The Market Bakery, Granny's Doughnuts, Uncle Cheesecake, and Sweet Shoppe Bakery all offer some AMAZING treats to satisfy that sweet tooth craving!

Who can deliver flowers to campus when I want to send a pick-me-up or celebratory bouquet?

There are three amazing options right down the street from campus:

Just Priceless and The Grassy Knoll!
